From Waitlists to the Louis Kahn Plaza: The IIM-A chapter begins

Alright!

I have decided to start writing blogs. Reason? – everything that has happened in last 1 week (14th April to 19th April 2025). These 6 days have compelled me to think about a way to record my journey over the next 1 year at this place – IIM Ahmedabad.

After multiple GMATs and GREs, interview preps, months of being in the waitlist and a hell lot of anxiety, I am here, pursuing my MBA, or PGPX as it’s called at IIM-A.

Today, 20th April 2025, as I sit in my dorm room – tired and drained after the 3 day long (and at times, boring) induction, emotional after bidding adieu to my wife and parents, nervous after being around 157 unfamiliar faces and excited for the roller-coaster of “Transformational Journey” starting tomorrow at 8:45 AM, I can already sense the regret I’d feel if I don’t end up capturing my journey here.

They say a picture speaks a thousand words, but I believe, at times, words can paint emotions a lens could never catch.

Having that glimpse of IIM-A logo for the first time when my cab entered the campus, the first walk on the academic block to complete my onboarding formalities, meeting people (some of whom, I believe, are going to be lifelong friends) for the first time, having my first meal at the campus, and of course, standing at the iconic Louis Kahn Plaza for the first time.. I know I will never be able to live these “Firsts” again. While my gallery is going to overflow this year, I want to do more than just clicking pictures, capture and preserve everything that I feel in these moments. And hence… blogging!

With just few hours left before I officially be a part of this 60-year-old legacy, I promise to write a piece every week so that I can always come back to relive what it felt to be at IIM-Ahmedabad!
